The only area worth a visit in Chambery is the Old Town, which is host to the famous Elephants Fountain and Rue Basse du Château, the latter tragically destroyed by a fire in 2001.

Beside de annual winter sports season, when skiers, snowboarders and bobsleighers gather to have some fun, there isn’t much else to do. The only other events are the exhibitions held every year in the exhibition park.

One of the best things about Chambery is that it’s in the Savoy region of France. Because of that you can find here specialties like fondue savoyarde, tartiflette and crêpes. The Savoy region is also known for its wines. In Chambery you can find a great selection of “Vin de Savoie”.
